Trip starts next week

Welcome to my cross-Canada bike trip blog!

Over the next three months, I'll be riding my bike from Toronto to St. John's, flying from St. John's to Vancouver, and biking from there back to Toronto. I can't say I've put in the proper planning or training for this adventure, I'm hoping to let it evolve as it goes along and figure things out day by day. I'll do my best to post my proposed route for each upcoming week, and aim to write something everyday.

Next week I'll be riding from Toronto to Montreal, hopefully arriving on Saturday. I've posted the link to the route below, if you happen to live somewhere along the way and are a willing to put me up for the night, or have a quiet yard I can set up a tent in overnight, it would be greatly appreciated! My plan is to prepare to camp every night, but take advantage of every opportunity to get in out of the elements.

Here's the proposed route for next week - Trip to Montreal

If you have any questions or suggestions, I look forward to hearing from you!

  5. Is the Toronto-St. Johns, then Vancouver-Toronto itinerary intended to keep you clear of the snowy passes in the Rockies but still allow an early start? If so, that seems a pretty smart solution.

    1. It's really only intended to reduce flights from two to one, and I also wanted to start and finish the ride at my front door.. I'll be catching nasty weather on the east coast as a trade off.
